Do I need prior Pilates experience?

No, our classes are mixed ability and are neither too easy or too hard?

We give our ladies variations, options and modifications to work from to suit different ability levels.

Enabling clients to maintain their ability, challenge themselves further if they wish or regress the exercise for a rest.

I feel nervous about walking into a class not knowing anyone or what to do!

It is our passion to help women feel amazing and live a life with the benefits of Pilates therefore It is important to us that everyone feels comfortable, happy and supported in our classes.  Along with wonderful teachers our community of lovely, friendly, like minded ladies will welcome and support you into the session.

I hate the thought of going a gym or even exercising! How is Pilates different?

Pilates is low impact but powerful for your body and you wont feel like you need to get in the shower afterwards, you can continue your day feeling uplifted like you have done something amazing for body without setting foot in a gym.  Our classes are ladies only and are a safe space to be yourself without judgement.

Do I need to be flexible to do Pilates?

Absolutely not, thats why you come to Pilates, to improve your flexibility.  Pilates is designed to stretch and strengthen the whole body,

How can Pilates help me?

We work with women who are peri-menopausal, menopausal and beyond to ensure longevity of our bodies.  Improving balance and flexibility along with conditioning your core and building muscle strength and bone density which helps to avoid injury.

Pilates can also compliment any other exercise routine, helping to keep the body in optimum condition.

What sort of Pilates can I expect to experience?

Our group Pilates mat classes are taught in a modern, contemporary way,  and exploring all the different variations of the exercises from the classical  mat teachings of "Joseph Pilates", we experiment with different small pieces of equipment all incorporating the Pilates principles Joseph created.

We have so much fun during our sessions and each week has a specific theme so there aren't any boring classes here.

How will I feel afterwards?

You will feel amazing after Pilates and leave with a lovely feeling of wellbeing, sense of achievement and a lush muscle burn in all the right places, increased self-esteem, confidence, happiness and encouraging that all important "You Time"

What if I have physical ailments and pain?

During the classes we put the body in various starting positions, if you suffer with neck, back, knee, wrist or hand issues then we do recommend bringing cushions for support and we will give you advice to modify your positions to help you feel more comfortable and get the most out of your practice.

I have back issues and even undergone surgery but I've been recommended Pilates to help strengthen my body!

Yes! Pilates helps to create space in the spine, build a strong core, ease aches and pains.  After each session you will notice how you improve physically and mentally.

I have been diagnosed with these conditions

  • Osteopenia

  • Osteoporosis

  • Arthritis

  • Osteoarthritis

But I also suffer severely with my neck, back, knee, wrists and hands

During our classes we weight bear on our wrists and knees, these areas may cause a problem during your Pilates practice with us.

If you struggle daily with these conditions we recommend finding a Pilates class that is chair based.

Although Invigorate Pilates doesn't provide classes of this nature we can still try to help advise you further, please get in touch.

If you have any further queries do get in touch

We look forward to seeing you on the mat soon

Love Nina 💜
